Imbas public Yahoo group moderation paid us a webvisit today...and we are honored.
Ad hominem and poor premises carried the day, however, as no attempt was made to
address the issue of our June 15th blog, other than to say that yours truly misunderstood, that an amendment is not a rule change, and to inquire why I left a list group that I did not leave.
This latest attempt to spin the unspinable was cute, but not worthy of a group with the status of Imbas-public. I (and dozens of others, including the "offending" original poster) misunderstood nothing, except how far Imbas moderators would go to defend a poor rule. Amendments are changes (look it up in Webster) and bouncing members of Yahoo groups are still members, even when they are moderated for speaking up against poor decisions that end up having to be amended because of their unfairness.
More noteworthy is that none of our assertions in the June 15 blog were specifically denied or challenged. I am also gladdened that at least one Imbas public moderator cared enough to publicly stop by and ask why I was no longer a member, even if he was in error. Perhaps there is hope for a "kinder, gentler, machine gun hand" in the moderation of Imbas-public at Yahoo after all.
