01/10/2006: "IMBAS Secretary Resigns; Future in Doubt"
music: Shock The Monkey - Peter Gabrielmood: Surprised
Vanya Tucherov, secretary and resident agent for IMBAS, as well as co-moderator of the IMBAS-Public Yahoo discussion group, resigned suddenly last week from his corporate duties, dealing a serious blow to IMBAS' attempt to corporately re-organize and begin re-accepting membership by its self imposed February 1, 2006 deadline.
In an unprecedented move,
Brenda Daverin, acting IMBAS President, citing Tucherov's need to deal with "a critical case of life", appealed on the public list for volunteers to step forward to fill either or both of the positions, stating that Tucherov's resignation "leaves a gaping hole that needs to be filled if there's any chance for the organization to move forward with its return as a viable group." (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/imbas-public/message/26417).
IMBAS promotes itself on its website (www.imbas.org) as "an organization that promotes the spiritual path of Senistrognata, the ancestral customs of the Celtic peoples." Since 2000, however, the organization has fallen all but silent, ceasing publication of its quarterly journal, declining to accept new membership, and discontinuing website updates. Former members of the council have distanced themselves from the organization because of new spiritual paths or differences of opinion on organizational focus, leaving few to step forward.
