05/03/2006: "Bealtaine Comes and Goes without a Peep"

music: Here Comes the Sun King - The Beatles
mood: Upbeat

belenus01 (40k image)Watching posting activity this last week on some of the major Celtic interest Yahoo email groups, not a single post was observed concerning the coming and passing of Bealtaine, one of the four major Celtic spiritual festivals.

Our celebration was a simple one here in Pensacola, marked by beautiful weather. As we look forward to the "light half" of the year and its many blessings and challenges, we honor Belenos and his healing powers, give thanks to Lugus for his protection of our families and thank our Land Goddess for the earth's bounty she provides.

I've noticed that many of these lists are short of actual practical spirituality discussions.

We ran our white cows between two flames this Bealtaine and managed to get their hides singed unevenly. We now have two-toned cows. Hopefully, Bres will be displaced in the list leaderships where his stinginess with the truth will be replaced by free flowing expression. Deborah and I rubbed the morning dew all over our faces and enjoyed the beautifying results. Someone else got to be *devoted* even when we were the sacrifice (a real bummer). The horns of dilemma received a new chauffer and the limma itself remained parked behind the warehouse due to a lack of interest. With the upcoming graduation season's it's hoped that it can do some additional service keeping nubies from catching cold when they frollic all night. Otherwise, it was a season of strange occurences and one in which I should have believed the black cat that ran across my pathway.
