05/31/2007: "Coming Clean about IMBAS"
mood: Surprised
After several posts this week on the IMBAS-public list asking for an update on the legal status of IMBAS, along with the same tired response (still trying to straighten out the legal problems), Brenda Daverin, the president of IMBAS, gave us all a fresh breath of honesty this evening.
After noting the continued difficulties
to get people involved and to follow through on several attempts to get IMBAS legal again over the past year, Daverin expressed her frustration at the lack of progress. "As for me personally, I'm willing to take the fall for not being able to drive things enough," Daverin lamented. "I simply do not have the capacity to pour that much energy into the situation and still manage the rest of my life."
With no decision as to yet whether IMBAS will try to re-emerge organizationally as it was intended by its founder Danielle Ni Dhighe, or come back as a stripped down educational entity, one thing is certain. "I will also say now that once we get things rolling again, I'm quitting," exclaimed Daverin. "I may be able to get this ball rolling at last, but I know I can't possibly stay in charge regardless."
