10/12/2008: "Imbas-Public allows Nic Dhana to toast "Celtic Flame" Author"
Longtime Celtic scholar and Celtic Nation member Aedh Rua announced his new CR book "Celtic Flame: an insider's guide to Irish Pagan Tradition" on the Imbas-Public Yahoo Group this month and received a flame of his own from CR FAQ writer Kathryn NicDhàna and her sidekicks.
Rua, an associate author with NicDhàna and others of the original CR document that graced Witchvox back in 2003, felt the wrath of NicDhàna
after praising her help in the development of "Celtic Flame", saying in his book "Thanks are due to...Kathryn Price for (her) support and advice through the many delays and revisions this manuscript has undergone."
Writing on Imbas-public, NicDhàna claims: "I do not in any way endorse this project. I certainly did not "support and advise through the many delays and revisions this manuscript has undergone." She then goes on to accuse Rua of dishonesty and deny there was any support given to his project.
Email is a wonderful thing, especially when people save them. After NicDhàna's vicious flame went unchallenged by Imbas-public moderators, Rua sent one of his many correspondences from NicDhàna from the time of their conversations to the list.
"I'm surprised no one's bit yet, as I think your book is a good intro and user-friendly," NicDhàna praised. She then goes on to give publishing advice and encouragement for Rua to continue his publishing of an anthology of related publications.
NicDhàna demanded that Imbas-public moderators Brenda and Bob Daverin remove Rua's email, which had been a public post to another forum, because it violated Yahoo's TOS, not because it caught her in an obvious untruth. The Daverins caved in and removed it from the Imbas-public archives, posting a weak excuse, but not removing NicDhàna's public slander of Rua from the archives.
So nothing changes. Imbas-public continues to the be the venue for self-appointed guardians of CR to denigrate and defame credible published authors of information pertinent to Celtic polytheism. Aedh Rua joins Alexei Kondratiev and Dr. Michael Newton as the latest to feel the wrath of the "CR" mother hen NicDhàna behind the safety of a monitor and keyboard and Imbas-public continues to shudder to the rattling of her sabers. A pity.
